Single supplement: 140€

THE PRICE

The price includes

  • Organisation and booking fees;
  • A road book: description and IGN maps (1 road book per registration, additional road book  supplied for groups of more than 4 people. Supplementary road book 10-25€);
  • Day 1 and 2: night in a 3* Hotel on B&B basis in Chamonix (twin/double bedroom);   
  • Day 3: night in a Hotel on halfboard basis in Argentière (twin/double bedroom);
  • Baggage transport between accommodation;
  • Taxes.

The price does not include:

  • Picnic lunches;
  • Dinner Day 1 and 2;
  • Personal expenses, drinks, touristic visits, etc.;
  • The lifts and train (approx 67€ per person);
  • Travel to and from your home;
  • Cancellation insurance (3.8% of total tour cost).

The price is all inclusive from departure to end point.

The route day to day...

Day 1

Meet at your hotel in the centre of Chamonix

SIGNAL FORBES - LA MER DE GLACE
Take the Aiguille du Midi cable car to the mid station Plan de l'Aiguille and hike along a balcony trail through the alpine pastures of la Blaitière to the Forbes signal (2200m). Descend along the the Mer de Glace facing the Aiguille des Drus and the Grandes Jorasses. Descend to Chamonix on foot or on the Montenvers train. Overnight in Chamonix.
4.5 hour walk / Elevation: +200m -500m (-900m extra if descending to Chamonix on foot)

Day 2

LAC CORNU    
Take the Planpraz telecabine and walk to Lac Cornu (2250m). Panoramic view of the entire Mont Blanc range, the Aravis and Faucigny mountains. Descend to Chamonix by the Planpraz telecabine or on foot. Overnight in Chamonix.
4.5 hour walk / Elevation: +600m -600m (-1000m extra if descending to Chamonix on foot)

Day 3

BALCONY TRAIL OF MONT BLANC - LE TOUR
Cross Chamonix and ascend with the cable car to Planpraz. Facing the Mont Blanc range, balcony trail to reach the refuge at La Flégère. The path continues on to the Chéserys lakes, passes at the foot of the Aiguilles Rouges mountains and then descend to Col des Montets. Incredible views over the Mont Blanc range from this balcony day. Possible detour to Lac Blanc. Night in a gîte in the village of Le Tour.
6.5 hour walk / Elevation: +600m -850m

Day 4

COL DE BALME - AIGUILLETTE  DES POSSETTES
From the gîte hike to the Col de Balme and the Aiguillette des Posettes. Panoramic view of the Mont Blanc and the glaciers of Le Tour and Argentière. Descend through the alpine pastures to Montroc-Le Tour. Return by train or bus to Chamonix.
5 hour walk / Elevation: +950m -950m

End point during the afternoon at Montroc-le-Planet.

The trip

LEVEL ***

Elevation: +/- 400m to 950m approximately per day.
Walking time: 4.5 to 6 hours approximately per day.
Type of trek: this tour is not technically difficult and is open to children from 10 years old.

Before departure, we send you a travel folder containing: 
- 1 IGN TOP 25 with the route highlighted. 
- 1 road-book containing all the information necessary for the trek. 
- 1 waterproof map holder.
- Accommodation list.

SIGNPOSTS AND WAYMARKS ALONG THE TREK

The tour of Mont Blanc is a trek which is very well indicated:
In France: marked with red and white stripes for Grande Randonnée (in both directions).

BAGGAGE TRANSPORT

With baggage transport: your baggage is transported daily to your accommodation by our logistics vehicle.

ACCOMMODATION

COMFORT:  3* Hotel 
Day 1 and 2 - night in 3* Hotel on B&B basis in Chamonix (twin/double bedroom).
Day 3 - night in 3* Hotel on half board basis in Argentière (twin/double bedroom).

MEALS

Breakfast is included and provided in each accommodation. Dinner is included on night 3.
Picnics are not included and can be pre-ordered at each accomodation in the evening.

ACCESS TO DEPARTURE POINT

ACCESS TO DEPARTURE POINT

Meeting point Sunday at 10:30am in front of the train station of Montroc-le-Planet.

BY TRAIN / BUS
Inbound: departure from Paris-Gare de Lyon the day before at 12:45pm (or 12:11pm) arrival in Chamonix at 7:48pm (6:48pm).
Night bus: departure from Paris Bercy Gare at 11:20pm, arrive at Lyon Perrache at 5:15am, connection at 6:00am, arrival in Chamonix at 9:35am.

There are regular buses throughout the whole Chamonix valley - with an hourly bus service between Les Houches and Montroc-le-Planet.

BY CAR      
Take the A40 motorway to Chamonix, follow the main road towards Argentière and Switzerland to the village of Montroc (1km after Argentière) or exit at Les Houches, Bellevue/Prarion.
There is ample parking at the meeting point in Montroc-le-Planet or in the village of Le Tour 1km away.
If you wish to leave your car in a covered garage, contact:

Chamonix Auto Park: 04 50 53 65 71 (40 to 50€ per week).
The easiest option for your return is to leave your car at the end point of the tour at the Prarion gondola in the village of Les Houches and take the bus to the meeting point in Montroc-le-Planet.

RETURN TO DEPARTURE POINT

At the end of the tour the way back from Montroc-le-Planet to Chamonix is easy via bus.

  • Sleeping bag liner sheet and pillowcase (blankets provided at accommodation)
  • Two adjustable walking poles (highly recommended)

BACKPACK

Bring a comfortable backpack of 30 to 40 litres for your personal belongings for the day (warm clothes, waterproofs, water, plate and cutlery for your picnic, sunscreen and your identity papers) and please keep a little room to carry a picnic and snacks.

BAGGAGE TRANSPORT

Your baggage will be transported daily between accommodation by our logistics vehicle. You are allowed 1 soft, sports type bag with all your possessions inside, no heavier than 12kg. Your bag has to be carried everyday by the driver, where access is not always easy, please think of their backs! Baggage which is too big and too heavy won't be accepted by the drivers!

If you wish to prolong your holiday, we can safely hold another bag for you which you may leave with us at the departure point and it will be deposited at the end point with your other baggage.
