Following the route of our Mythic Dolomites, this tour offers you a more sporty experience, taking place on high altitude trails, with the added bonus of a Via Ferrata to punctuate this beautiful getaway.
Crossing the deserted Sella plateau, yomp in the grandiose valleys of Puez, the Veronesi Via Ferrata, upper Tofane valley, a night in a small refuge hidden in the Tre Cime... Transform yourself into an ibex and enjoy the extraordinary landscapes of these intriguing mountains!

THE PRICE

The price includes:

  • Organisation and booking fees;
  • Guiding by a qualified and insured mountain leader;
  • All meals including picnic lunch and simple snacks during the day, accommodation in gîtes, refuges and small hotels, shower tokens if necessary and local tourist taxes;
  • Daily luggage transport between accommodation (except Days 1, 4 and 5) and requied transfers for the itinerary;
  • A Via Ferrata on Day 4, supervised by a mountain guide with equipment provided.

Does not include:

  • Travel insurance ;
  • Personal expenses (drinks, etc.) please be aware drinking water at the table is not included in accommodation ;
  • A optional second Via Ferrata on Day 6, supervised by a mountain guide with equipment provided (75€ paid on the day to the mountain guide) ;
  • Touristic visits ;
  • Your return journey from home to the point of departure/end point, airport taxes and other exclusions clearly described within the corresponding technical sheet.

The fare is all inclusive from meeting point to dispersion point.

L’itinéraire jour après jour...

Day 1

Meet at 1:00pm infront of Cortina d’Ampezzo bus station, transfer to the departure point at Passo Capolongo. Please have lunch before.

BEC DE ROCES - GRUPPO SELLA
The hike starts between pastures and forests. Climb to the refuge alongside the curious needles of Bec de Roces. Night in a refuge at the foot of Piz Boé (*without baggage).
2.5 hour walk / Elevation: + 620m

Day 2

HIGH PLATEAU OF SELLA  - PASSO GARDENA
Depart from the refuge to climb to Piz Boé (3152m). Short descent to reach the high Sella plateau. A few passages with well secured cables to reach the Pisciadiu refuge and lake. Descend to Passo Gardena. Night in a dormitory in a refuge
6 to 7 hour walk / Elevation: +800m -1150m

Day 3

PUEZ MOUNTAINS - JUEL VALLEY
Climb to the Col de Cier between the amazing Pizes towers. Cross the Somalfucia Pass and descend to the Puez hut through the Langental Grand Canyon. Descend through the beautiful wild Juel valley and continue to Villa Stern. Short transfer to san Cassiano.
Night in a gïte, in a room from 4 to 6 people, with luggage.
7 hour walk / Elevation: +870m -1350m

Day 4

FORCELLA DI LECH - LAGAZUOI - TOFANE
Depending on the weather, depart for Forcella di Lech and its amazing landscape at the heart of the Fanes massif. Follow a beautiful trail and the Veronesi Via Ferrata crossing the entire massif. Descend to the Gran Forcella pass and traverse towards Tofane. (If the weather is not good, the Via Ferrata is postponed for safety reasons to Day 6 and an alternative route is taken to Tofane via the Lagazuoi mountain). A final climb gives access to a hidden refuge at 2500m in an exceptional landscape at the heart of this stony massif. Night in a refuge, in a small dormitory of 4 to 6 people (*without baggage).
6 to 7 hour walk / Elevation: +1300m -700m

Day 5

TRE DITA - VAL TARAVENANZES - TRE CIME
From the refuge it is possible to climb to Tre Dita (2694m) for the view and the atmosphere! Descent  to the refuge Dibona and transfer to Auronzo with access to your bagage to refresh your backpack for a second night in a mountain refuge. Climb to the refuge at the heart of Tre Cime for a final night in the surrealist landscape of Fiscalino. Night in a refuge in a dormitory (*without baggage).
5.5 hour walk / Elevation: +380m -1300m
1.5 hour walk / Elevation: +/-120m via Tre Dita

Day 6

TRE CIME AND PATERNO - CORTINA
Meet with the guide to climb the Monte Paterno Via Ferrata.  A highlight of this tour at the heart of these rocky mountains! Return via the Collerena mountain passes and then via Lavaredo. Descend to Auronzo and bus transfer to Cortina d'Ampezzo.
3.5 hour walk / Elevation: +/-350m

End point around 3:00pm in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The itinerary is established according to the latest information available, the possibility of unknown factors affecting this itinerary is possible including situations beyond our control which may change the route, timings etc.

The trip

LEVEL ****

Elevation: +/- 1000m on average per day
Walking time: 6 to 7 hours per day
Type of hike: mountain route on technical trails, often stony with steep or vertiginous passages with well secured cabled sections.

GUIDING

Number of participants between 6 and 12 people supervised by a qualified professional mountain leader and a mountain guide for the Via Ferrata.

ACCOMMODATION

5 nights in refuges or gites in a dormitory or a multiple person bedroom.
Remember to bring your own sleeping sheet and pillowcase.  
Two blankets or a duvet per person are provided in each accommodation.

MEALS

Breakfast and dinner are provided in each accommodation.
Picnics are included and are carefully prepared daily by your mountain leader, comprising a variety of healthy salads and local products.
We do our best to accommodate special diets (gluten-free, vegetarian etc.). However, we encourage you to bring some additional products for your own picnics.

YOUR BACKPACK FOR THE NIGHT WITHOUT YOUR BAGGAGE

For the night without your baggage at the accommodation (you will get it back the night after), here are the things to add to your backpack (about 2 kilos are enough!):

- sleeping bag liner sheet
- change of clothes (bare necessities!)

End point Saturday around 3:00pm in Cortina d'Ampezzo.

BACKPACK

Bring a comfortable backpack of 30 to 40 litres for your personal belongings for the day (warm clothes, waterproofs, water, plate and cutlery for your picnic, sunscreen and your identity papers) and please keep a little room to carry a picnic and snacks.

BAGGAGE TRANSPORT

Your baggage will be transported daily (except Days 1, 4 and 5) between accommodation by our logistics vehicle. You are allowed 1 soft, sports type bag with all your possessions inside, no heavier than 12kg. Your bag has to be carried everyday by the driver, where access is not always easy, please think of their backs! Baggage which is too big and too heavy won't be accepted by the drivers!

If you wish to prolong your holiday, we can safely hold another bag for you which you may leave with us at the departure point and it will be deposited at the end point with your other baggage.
