Every outdoor lover in France feels his heart beating when it comes to the Vercors mountains. From the impregnable fortress of the high plateau to the shredded peaks of the Jarjatte valley, the south of this mythical mountain range, between Drôme et Isère regions, offers the contrasts of a rough and authentic nature.
As the cold winds of winter start to blow, the snow offers a new dimension to that territory. The forest and the mountain become still for the great pleasure of the contemplative hiker that crosses this frozen world where the lynx and the wolf are prowling. Far from the crowded ski resorts, snowshoes are the best way to discover this peaceful mountain, yet rich with amazing wildlife !
As a contrast with the rough winter conditions, you will rest in a warm and comfortable gite, enjoying a good cuisine and local products. The week will end beautifully with a night in a gorgeous castle-hotel under the famous Mont Aiguille !
