Wild borders between two National Parks

Founded in 1922, the Gran Paradiso National Park, first of its kind in Italy and Europe, was created to protect wildlife and is a safe haven for plants and animals including: chamois, ibex, marmot, fox and vulture. This park adjoins its little brother in France, the Vanoise National Park. Both together, it's offering a protective area of 1200 km2. Between the two parks is a large massif and several high mountain passes. A challenging trek with basic comfort level in the refuges but offering a real immersion into a virgin mountain space.

You will like

  • Little used route, often wild and unmarked trails
  • Several mountain passes over 3000m high
  • A selection of best routes in the Gran Paradiso and the Vanoise massifs
  • The atmosphere of real mountain refuges
  • Visiting the traditional villages Ecot and Bonneval
